Leading crypto exchange Binance has pledged $3 million in humanitarian aid to support its users affected by the devastating earthquake that recently struck Venezuela. The contribution adds to a wider international response as governments, aid groups, and private organizations mobilize resources for those affected.

The exchange made a public disclosure of the donation on X while adding that it will waive all P2P and merchant fees on Binance Pay until July 2nd, 2026. The aid is aimed at providing urgent assistance to families facing the loss of homes, livelihoods, and essential services.

Binance Pledges $3M Towards Disaster Relief

The earthquake caused widespread destruction across parts of Venezuela, damaging homes, public infrastructure, and critical services. Thousands of residents were forced from their homes, while many others faced shortages of food, clean water, medical supplies, and temporary shelter.

As relief operations expanded, Binance announced that its $3 million donation would be distributed through Binance Charity to help its affected users receive assistance as quickly as possible. According to the company, rapid access to financial support can play an important role during humanitarian emergencies, allowing families to purchase necessities and address urgent needs.

The initiative is intended to complement the efforts of emergency responders, humanitarian organizations, and local authorities already working on the ground. The donation reflects growing involvement from the crypto sector in relief efforts. By using blockchain-based tools, organizations can move funds efficiently across borders and provide transparent tracking of charitable contributions.

Not a First for Binance

The Venezuela earthquake response is the latest in a series of humanitarian initiatives undertaken by Binance. Over the years, the firm has assisted communities affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises in different parts of the world. These efforts have included emergency aid campaigns following major earthquakes, floods, and other large-scale disasters.

One of the most notable examples came after the 2023 earthquake in Morocco, when Binance Charity committed up to $3 million in crypto-based assistance for affected residents. The organization also committed up to $3 million to the Spanish Red Cross in response to the devastating floods that struck Valencia, a city in Spain.

As Venezuela begins the difficult process of rebuilding, the latest donation highlights how private-sector organizations are increasingly contributing to disaster recovery efforts. While long-term reconstruction will require sustained support from many sources, Binance’s contribution is intended to provide immediate relief and help affected families take the first steps toward recovery.
